Japanese porcelain company "NAGAE" shows new designs in collaboration with Swedish designer Johanna Lindgren at "100% Design" and "Swedish Style in Tokyo".
"100% design" takes place at Jingu-Gaien from the 2nd - 6th of November, and "Swedish Style in Tokyo" takes place at various locations in Tokyo between 2nd - 12th of November.
Johanna Lindgren graduated from Konstfack at 2002, and is working as a freelance designer since then. She has been working with the largest department store in Sweden "Ahlens", Belgian lighting company "Dark", etc. This is the first time that she works with a Japanese company.
"NAGAE" is a high-end brand from "Seto Seikei", which is based in Seto, Japan and has a history of almost 100 years. "NAGAE" applies old techniques to modern designs, and has been offering many pieces of innovative tableware. Four pieces of "NAGAE" products received "Good Design Awards 2005".
In this collaboration, Johanna Lindgrenﾕs new design has been used for Nagaeﾕs "Usukuchi Cup", which received "Good Design Award". Adding a cutting-edge Swedish design to a simple and functional product which is based on traditional Japanese technique, "NAGAE" and Johanna Lindgren will show a new style of porcelains.
